ThinkKits is committed to protecting the privacy of children under 13. As a K-5 education data platform, we take our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) seriously.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a United States federal law enacted in 1998 that imposes requirements on operators of websites and online services directed at children under 13 years of age, or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
COPPA requires parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children, and gives parents the right to review and delete their child's information. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces COPPA.
ThinkKits does not collect personal information directly from children under 13. Our platform serves educators, administrators, and vendors—not students.
We index publicly available school-level data from NCES, DOE, and state education agencies. No individual student records are stored or processed.
ThinkKits does not use cookies, pixels, or analytics to track, profile, or target children. Platform analytics apply only to authenticated adult users.
All platform features require adult authentication via Clerk. There is no student-facing interface, student login, or pathway for children to create accounts.
We do not sell, lease, or share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Our data sources are publicly available government records.
Vendor intelligence tools operate on market-level aggregates and funding data. Vendors never gain access to individual student or family information.
Although ThinkKits does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, we respect the rights of parents and guardians. Under COPPA, parents have the right to:
We conduct an annual review of our data practices to ensure continued COPPA compliance as our platform evolves.
All team members receive training on COPPA requirements and child data protection best practices.
In the unlikely event that personal information of a child under 13 is inadvertently collected, we will promptly delete it and notify affected parties.
This page is kept current. Material changes to our COPPA practices will be announced and reflected here.
If you have any questions about our COPPA compliance practices or believe that we may have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
